Today's relationship advice is not only practical, but essential in today's economy. While you might be a romantic person at heart, sometimes your wallet isn't always as romantic as your intentions so today we'll discuss inexpensive ways to keep romance alive.
They don't cost a lot of money, but will make for a dramatic effect.
1) Buy a few flowers, pull out the petals and spread them on the floor of your apartment or house so that she walks in on these petals. You might also want to create a little trail of petals that she has to follow in order to find the 'surprise' at the end.
2) A fun scavenger hunt is another great way to build suspense! When your partner gets home, simply leave a note for him or her to find with instructions indicating where to go first, then leave a note there, etc. You might want to leave these notes in areas that are particularly memorable for the both of you as a couple. At the end, you could have her meet you at your favorite restaurant for dinner.
3) Hide a note that has a time and date on it for her to find. The note should also have a place where you will meet – but don't say why.
4) Buy a box of her favorite chocolate or candy and leave it for her to find at the end of her day. Perhaps instead of chocolate in one of the sections, there is a special surprise.
5) Fill her room or apartment with balloons and then hide in a corner for her to find you by moving the balloons out of the way, like the movie "Patch Adams."
I hope you found today's column fun and practical. Setting the mood is something that you can do minutes or weeks beforehand, but you should certainly ensure that you are doing something to create a special moment for your partner!
